Aikido

The Martial Art of Harmony

Discover the strength of a peaceful spirit!

Aikido is a dynamic martial art based on harmony and reconciliation developed in the twentieth century by Morihei Ueshiba O Sensei.

Aikido techniques reflect the waves, spirals and rotations of nature and are designed to protect life and end cycles of violence. Training integrates mind, body and spirit, shifting fight/flight reflexes into conscious response.

People of all ages are enriched by this noncompetitive martial path of beauty, power and balance.

New to Aikido?

Starting from where you are, from the beginning you will start to develop skills that enable you to expand into relaxation, centering and integrated movement. Move beyond “fight or flight” and experience Aikido’s inspiring, powerful and dynamic potential. You can get started by taking an introductory class where you’ll learn some of the basics and enjoy learning a different way of moving and perceiving. If you’re ready to jump in, visit our getting started page to learn how. If you’re not quite sure, observing a class is a great way to see the dojo, meet members of the community, and see if it’s a fit for you. Contact us to watch a class.
